Stop Violence Against Women

I wish there was never a need for this article.

I came to know that, 2012 nirbhaya case convicts not yet punished and still in jail eating 3 times a day by wasting our own taxes. So Dear girls and sisters out there, what I presume is no law is saving women other than self-defense during distress.

Till our laws reformed or introduced in our judicial system and become stricter to lynch those bastards on public and our system feels safe for women, please prepare yourself for some self-defense.

I never imagined a moment to share a post like this. Where are we heading as a society being in one of the most prominent countries in the world?

To all men out there

No matter how many precautions women will take, we can never make a difference until we make our roots stronger. I feel ashamed of writing this post of being a man to those unethical sections of men.

I have only one thing to share for you

The law has a much lower standard than ethics.

Please make your ethics strong and be a man.

  • I am urging parents and teachers to work on this and try to inculcate this from the very first age of a child. At least we should give some positive hope and safety society to next generations, although it's a decade-long process let’s never take a chance and regret of building a culture of upcoming perpetrators, goons, assaulters, robbers, and rapists.
  • And to all educational institutions please make sure teaching self-defencing and ethics are part of their curriculum.

An ideal Education has the power to change the world that we hope.

  • And to all media people who are reading this post, media has a lot of potentials to twist and turn situations in many ways. Try to be sensitive to the victim’s family members while writing any articles on your respective websites or papers. At the end of the day, we reach our very own home to spend some quality time with our families.
  • If you don’t stand for women you don’t have the right to victim

I urge everyone not to use women assault cases as view/click baits. (Everyone in the sense print media, digital media, social media, youtubers, bloggers etc.,).

It should be us (Men) who should raise voice against rape to end Rape culture, Not women. The change should begin with us as we are collectively responsible for these assaults against women. Enough is Enough let’s raise voice against this barbaric culture and create awareness till it reaches the unethical group of men.

As an age-old tradition, Here I am writing some common everyday measures(Just as a reminder) and practical solutions for every woman just to leave no stones unturned. (For those of you who would ask me why women only have to take measures and precautions to come outside the home, Sorry I don’t have an answer, I am selfish I want my sisters out there to be safe till our laws reformed to introduce brutal punishments for rapists and our system became a safe place for women again, just to be on the safe side I have to write below measures).

  • Share your location with your family or any trusted person who can react in no time if anything goes wrong, before you leaving office during late nights or happen to walk in deserted areas. (you can turn off anytime later once you reach home)

  • Also you can share live location easily with whatsapp. Go to a persons chat with whom you want to share location > Click on the attachment icon (beside Type a message text).
Share live location via whatsapp
  • Please keep pepper spray or any other weapon that makes you feel safe for defending yourself on such moments.
  • Please do not be hesitant or fearful of calling the police (DIAL 100 or 112) in doubt, they are the most trusted persons during distress moments and they know exactly how to trace your call or can give you quick suggestion.
  • And by any chance, if you have to go on late nights take a trusted person with you.
  • And try learning some self-defencing techniques to save yourself from being attacked.
